CD Advert Analysis (1)

For this analysis I have looked at the magazine advert for Jay-Z's album ' The Blueprint 3'. There is only one image used and it is the album cover. The album cover is used as the whole advert.
The name of the artist is in a big text and it placed above the main image so that the name and the image are all seen by the audience immediately. The title of the album is underneath the main image and underneath the name is the date. It is in a bold font and enlarged so it stands out more than the name of the album.
This means that only the date and the name of the artist are bold to the audience. This is also a way in which the audience are only drawn to the name of the artist and the date it is released. The text used is in the same font as on the front cover of the album. This creates a link between the whole promotional package. Underneath the date, in small font, is the link to his website and the logo of the music company. This again is a way to advertise the album more and to give the music company more advertisement for the music they make.

The colour of the album is also used on the front page of the magazine. This is another link made to the album and the artist. The main image on the magazine is of Jay-Z.

All of these elements are used to promote this album and the artist.
