CD Advert Analysis (2)

The second analysis of magazine adverts I will be looking at is for Ellie Goulding's debut album 'Lights'. The magazine advert is on the left and the album on the right. As you can see, elements which are used in the album cover are also used in the advert. This is a common feature in music albums and are the best way to inform the audience about the album and what it looks like. The image is a medium close up so it captivates the audience. The use of text is the same in both images and creates a link to the album. Unlike the previous advert this one uses ratings from magazines. As this is her debut album, the use of ratings will reassure the audience and inform them that it is a good album. Using the album cover as the image for the advert, is used to make a connection to the album and also ensure the audience know what it looks like if they saw it in a shop.

All of these elements are again used to link with the promotional campaign and to ensure the audience are aware of the promotion of this album.
